7. Copyediting

  • Provided copyediting services for important school documents.

ESL Instructor

Kings Summer, Malibu, CA [June 2018—July 2018, June 2019—July 2019]

  • Provided 30 hours of ESL instruction per week to students between the ages of 10-17.

    • Responsibilities included both prepping and delivering lucid lectures, creating and grading course materials such as exams, grading and evaluating written and spoken classwork, and working individually with students to address both strengths and weaknesses.

  • Helped with the testing and placement of students.

  • Attended regular staff meetings and teacher development workshops.

  • Monitored and recorded student attendance.

  • Ensured students were prepared for their excursions around the city of Los Angeles.

Phillips Academy Andover Summer Session, Andover, MA [June 2017—July 2017]

  • Assisted in the following courses:

    • Introduction to Philosophy

  • Led class discussions, graded weekly papers, and met with students to help write papers and to help prep for class debates.

  • Lived with students in a dormitory; duties included producing dormitory reports and mentoring select students in the dormitory by giving academic advice, discussing grades and class performance, and communicating regularly with parents for updates on their child’s performance.

  • Participated in the Elwin Sykes Teaching Assistant Summer Program that consisted of weekly meetings, presentations, and pedagogical discussions designed to expose teaching assistants to the field of education.

  • Coached afternoon soccer and chaperoned weekly school trips to universities in New England.

English Instructor

EG International School of English, Jeonju, South Korea [June 2015—July 2016]

  • Taught English as a foreign language to elementary and middle school students.

  • Classes taught included fundamental areas for the mastery of the English language such as listening, reading, writing, grammar, and speaking.
